About us

Philosophy

After working with hundreds of federal employees over the years, one thing has become VERY apparent: The federal government does NOT provide enough education about employee benefits and retirement options.

I take a very consultative, educational approach to help federal employees better UNDERSTAND their benefits. I have spent years learning as much about federal employee benefits as possible to help serve my clients.

Whether you become a client or not, I will ALWAYS HELP to the best of my ability.

How Does It Work?

Step 01

Review

We will review your current, personal financial situation and answer specific questions you may have.

We will review things like your FERS ANNUITY, FEHB, retirement goals and financial status.

I like to say we will just put the pieces of your retirement puzzle on the table, we won’t necessarily put the puzzle together yet.

Step 02

Planning

My belief is EVERYTHING should be based on a written retirement plan. An investment strategy should match the GOALS of your plan.

How can ANYONE tell you how to invest if they don’t know what you are trying to accomplish?!?!

Together, we will create a retirement plan including your FERS annuity, social security maximization and any other income streams. Only AFTER we have defined your desired goals do we talk about investment strategies.

Step 03

Join the Cool Team!!

I use the most CUTTING EDGE technology partners that allow you easy access to all of your investment and planning information.

I take great pride in simplifying the federal retirement process into EASY-TO-UNDERSTAND concepts. Open communication and transparency are a cornerstone to client success.

Matt Curtis, CRPC®

President, Founder

Born and raised in Sacramento, I graduated from Sacramento State University in 1995. In 1999, I joined the Sheriff’s academy in Sacramento County and became a deputy. I enjoyed the feeling of helping people and being a part of the community as a deputy.

Since high school, economics and investment markets have always been a passion of mine. So, after 12 years as a Deputy Sheriff, I decided to retire as a Deputy Sheriff and pursue investment advising and retirement planning. Working with federal employees fulfills my desire to be part of a community and truly help “middle America”.

In 2019, I graduated from the College for Financial Planning as a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® and a member of the National Ethics Association.

My wife, Melinda, and I have been married over 26 years. She is my rock. I also have two fantastic daughters, Macey and Makenna.

When out of the office, you will find me fishing, hunting, golfing, spending time with my and wife/kids or playing guitar. I am a huge history buff and am constantly reading.
